Fund raising goals1

Last year, 37% of OSA families participated in the Annual Fund. We hope to increase it this year.

WAYS TO GIVE:

WAYS TO GIVE:

OSA prioritizes enrollment for low-income students to ensure that every Oakland student has the opportunity to experience an extraordinary arts education. We rely on families that can give more to help create opportunities for families who cannot.

When each and every family participates regardless of the amount, they help build a culture where everyone can see themselves as part of sustaining OSA’s arts education.

Give Online: Making a secure online gift is the fastest and easiest way to make your tax-deductible gift to support Oakland School for the Arts.

Monthly Giving: A simple way to make a sustained impact.

Recurring gifts are the most important and impactful way to help us reach our Annual Fund goal. As you plan your recurring monthly gift, consider whether you would be able to double, triple, or even quadruple your contribution to support families who are not in this position. Giving monthly allows you to factor your gift into your monthly household budget.

Employer Match: Many companies match charitable contributions made by employees, retirees, and spouses—often doubling or even tripling the impact of your gift at no additional cost to you.

Stock: If you have appreciated securities, donating stock directly to OSA may allow you to potentially receive a charitable deduction based on the stock’s fair market value and avoid capital gains tax that could otherwise result from selling the stock.*

Giving Tuesday: On December 1st, we will launch this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign. This is a great time to contribute your tax deductible donation. Check with your employer for matching opportunities to double the impact.

Beginning in 2026, a new federal tax provision may allow families who take the standard deduction to receive a tax deduction for charitable contributions. Individuals may deduct up to $1,000 in qualifying cash charitable gifts, while married couples filing jointly may deduct up to $2,000. This means that even if you do not itemize deductions on your federal tax return, your gift to Oakland School for the Arts may still provide a federal tax benefit, subject to IRS eligibility and recordkeeping requirements. *

Q & A

Q & A

Why should my family participate?

Every gift strengthens our community. Family participation demonstrates our shared commitment to OSA and helps inspire support from alumni, foundations, corporations, and community partners.

What if I can’t make a large gift?

Every gift matters. We recognize that every family’s circumstances are different. Our goal is broad participation–not equal giving. Please make a gift that is meaningful for your family.

How does my gift make a difference?

Your gift helps bridge the gap between public funding and the true cost of an OSA education, supporting students, teachers, performances, classrooms, and opportunities.
