OSA Mental Health & Wellness Staff:
Maya Levine, Mental Health Coordinator
Maya and the MFTs provide individual and group counseling to students that are identified as needing specific mental health supports.  Maya works closely with our Dean of Students, Anna DeRoos, on restorative practices and general student supports.  Though much of Maya’s work exists within the realm of Special Education, there is a significant overlap with General Ed students.
Kristin Fialko, Wellness Counselor
Kristin Fialko, LMFT,  an East Coast native, journeyed to the Bay Area 11 years ago to pursue her visual art career. Extensive social justice involvement led her to pursue her MA in Counseling Psychology & Somatics from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). During that time it became clear that merging art, mental health and social justice was the trifecta her life's path would encompass. In the fall of 2017, Kristin began working as a Mental Health & Wellness Counselor here at OSA. Outside of OSA, Kristin has a private somatic psychotherapy practice also here in Oakland ( As an artist herself, supporting young creatives is a deep passion of hers! In addition to guiding people on their emotional and spiritual journeys, Kristin is also a Maryland Institute College of Art Alum, and is a practicing painter and illustrator out of her Oakland art studio.
Dr. Erica Wandner, Psychologist
Erica spends part of her time doing individual assessment for the Special Education Department.  The other part of her time is dedicated to providing mental health care services and consultation for the whole school.  These services include crisis response, individual and group counseling, providing professional development on topics related to student mental health care, and collaborating with other staff and faculty around on-going needs assessment regarding emotional support for OSA students.
