Step It Up Program

Step It Up applications are now closed for the 2021-22 school year.

Please check back in Early Autumn 2022 for the next application period.

Thank you for your interest!

Step It Up is a free after-school arts program founded by Oakland School for the Arts in 2014 focused on connecting with & preparing BIPOC students from Oakland and surrounding areas for successful entrance into OSA. Last year, we partnered with The People’s Conservatory, and are proud to continue that partnership into the 2021-22 school year.

Our mission is to support OSA’s diversity and outreach commitments by making arts education accessible to underserved & marginalized Oakland youth. BIPOC students in 5th-8th grade attending specific Title 1 Oakland schools can apply for the Step It Up program.
