The OSA STEAM Lab was created with the goal of being a Science, Technology Engineering, Art and Mathematics hands-on learning environment. It is located across from the Fox Theater in the Newberry Building. Students are exposed to lessons and activities that incorporate technology integration as we focus on preparing students for 21st century jobs. The Lab is a “maker space” containing 3-D printers, robotics arms and hydraulic lifts, laser cutters as well as laptops loaded with programs that allow students to do CAD design and write programs to design video games.  Additionally, it is a designated space where Art and Academic instructors collaborate, with the guidance of the STEAM coordinator, to incorporate the blend of Science and Math in Art such as building circuits to light costumes, dying fabric from organic materials, and connecting the periodic table to certain media used in visual arts.  All students and faculty have access to the STEAM Lab.
