OSA's RESPONSE TO COVID-19 AND HOW TO SUPPORT

ABOUT THE OSA CREATES FUND

In its 18 years of existence, OSA has experienced many challenges that have all seemed insurmountable. Each time, the OSA community has come together and not only survived but kept the focus on the mission.  Today, we are calling on our community and supporters for help during this unprecedented time.

Due to the shelter-in-place order, our building is closed. As a result, we have had to cancel spring fundraising events, performances, exhibits, and other traditional appeals that together, make up about half of our overall fundraising needs this year.

Please help us to recover funds lost due to the impact of COVID-19. Your support allows us to continue to serve nearly 800 Bay Area students, now, remotely. As a non-profit organization employing over 100 teachers, administrators and staff, OSA relies on your support year after year.  We are grateful for the opportunity to provide a public arts education. Please consider donating what you can to provide critical support for Oakland School for the Arts.

WHAT WE'RE DOING

OSA Works To Serve Students

Our remote learning plan has been in place in since March 16 to ensure that students are still receiving the education that they need and deserve.

Supporting the Whole Student

Creating a remote learning school means we have to work even harder to connect our students to supports and services. We’re doing our best to rise to the challenge.

The Arts Are Alive at OSA

As faculty and students shelter in place, we’re changing the way we teach and create art at a time when we need it the most.

Our faculty is stepping up in unprecedented ways to ensure our students’ success while also playing crucial roles outside of OSA.

Faculty and Alumni Keep the Arts Going

Our faculty is stepping up in unprecedented ways to ensure our students’ success while also playing crucial roles outside of OSA.

Members of our OSA community are among the front-line workers who are keeping Oakland and the Bay Area going during this difficult time.

OSA Telegraph Keeps Publishing

Our student-driven online magazine, published OSA Literary Arts, helps our community
stay connected.
