DANCE
• Entering 6th and 7thgraders must demonstrate knowledge of elementary movements of ballet such as body positions, placement and terms. • Entering 8th graders and high schoolers must demonstrate knowledge of advanced balletic movements and terms. • Students will audition in groups. No prepared solos will be necessary • Girls and boys MUST appear in leotards and tights • MUST bring ballet slippers and jazz shoes • You will also be asked to dance barefoot • Boys- Hair must be neatly combed back, off the face and secured with a headband, if it is long, or cut short • Girls- Hair pulled back into a bun or pony tail (no unnatural colors) • Absolutely no jewelry (this includes nose rings and tongue studs) • MUST DEMONSTRATE A SERIOUS COMMITMENT TO DANCE TRAINING
DIGITAL MEDIA (High School Only) • Submit a variety of samples of your visual and digital artwork • You will be asked to "pitch" a project or a storyline for production • Be prepared to discuss your work.

PRODUCTION DESIGN (High School Only) • Download the audition requirements document for the Production Design emphasis.
THEATRE • Select a 2-minute monologue from a contemporary, published play – no original material or poetry. (Some selections for download.) • Bring the play and three copies of the monologue to the audition. • You will be asked to discuss the play and the monologue you have chosen.
VISUAL ARTS • Download the audition requirements document for the Visual Arts emphasis.
VOCAL MUSIC • Prepare and memorize a two minute a capella excerpt from a piece in any of the following genres: Jazz, European Classical, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and Gospel/Spirituals. • Provide 3 copies of notated sheet music (no lyric sheets allowed) • Sight-read a notated rhythm example • Sight-read a notated melodic example • Pitch recognition • Previous performance experience preferred
